Modern culture has rejected God as the ultimate source of truth and morality, and replaced God with human wisdom. Society wants to assimilate Christians to its beliefs and values. This is nothing new. Daniel was being forced to assimilate to Babylonian beliefs and culture. We resist assimilation by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) with God's word. God's word tells us how to push back the darkness of culture in good, pleasing, and gracious ways.
