If it were up to me I would have written the Christmas story differently. Jesus would have been born under far better conditions, less stressful, less dangerous, with better publicity, with more respectable visitors, and with less scandal. But it wasn't up to me. Mary and Joseph's life was full of surprises, unexpected turns and questions. Yet, they humbly submitted to God. May we do the same when plans change, and our life goes off script.
