Bible Text: Ezekiel 22:23-31 |

God needs our prayers, in that, God chooses to work through people, not independently of them. Even though God, in his sovereignty wills and plans things to happen, our prayers somehow releases God to do them. Just as Moses stood in the breach and prayed for God to spare rebellious Israel (Psalm 106:20-23), God looked for someone to stand in the gap and pray for rebellious Judah (Ezekiel 22:30).

Sadly, God found no one, and Judah and its capital Jerusalem fell to Babylon in 586 B.C. God uses our prayers the same way today. A praying person might be the only thing between an individual or nation and the judgement of God. Be challenged and encouraged that you can stand in the gap in prayer for others.
