Bible Text: Genesis 1:1 - 2:3 |

Series:

Your worldview is the framework you use to understand, interpret and make sense of your world.  You use your worldview to answer the big questions of life.  There are two primary views of how our world and universe got started.  One view is that God did it (Genesis 1:1), the other view, which leaves God out, is evolution starting from a “Big Bang” explosion 13.8 billion years ago.  Although some Christians try to combine these two views: the Bible doesn’t describe an old universe.  A plain reading of the Bible tells us God made the universe in 6 days (Genesis 1), by His sovereign command – not relying on any preexisting matter (Hebrews 11:3), and by wisdom (Proverbs 3:19).

Furthermore, God ordered time on a weekly cycle of 6 days work and 1 day rest (Genesis 2:2; Exodus 20:11).  And, everything God made was very good (Genesis 1:31).
