If you love Christ, and you’re serving Him, you will be challenged. The prophet Elijah was challenged to the point of discouragement and depression. God renewed him for service by: 1. Giving him proper food and rest; 2. Reminding him he was not alone. God preserved thousands of faithful followers; 3. Elijah had to re-shift his focus back on God. To do this God removed him from his current situation so he could be alone with God; 4. In that quiet place God spoke to Elijah in a gentle whisper. God speaks to us in our thoughts. Pay attention to God’s quiet voice; 5. Lastly, Elijah had to revisit his calling. He reflected on where he was and why he was there. These steps renewed Elijah to continue his service for God, and they will renew us for service as well.
