When Jesus came to earth God entered into the very situation He wanted to heal. It was God's perfect, and prophesied, plan, but it was also a dangerous and humble plan for Mary and Joseph. Mary and Joseph had to flee in the middle of the night to escape King Herod's attempt to kill baby Jesus. They spend about a year as refugees in Egypt, and then they returned to Galilee and settled in the small town of Nazareth. Nazareth was not strategic politically, militarily, or religiously, but God's plan was that Jesus grow up in obscure, humble circumstances. Those were the dangerous, humble and perfect plans of a God who loves us extravagantly.
