Bible Text: Hebrews 12:1-3 | Pastor Keith Bergstrom
Series: The Goodness of God
What brings Christ joy? Christ is happy when we obey Him and are faithful. And, when we disobey and mess up, but then repent and turn to Him for grace and forgiveness, that too brings Christ joy (Luke 15:5-7). Christ treats us with kindness in hopes that we repent (Romans 2:4-6). When we sin, God's grace increases all the more (Romans 5:2-6). Does that mean we take advantage of God's goodness? Never, because we died to sin and we live for Christ (Romans 6:1-4). Furthermore, the same gentle and lowly Jesus that walked the earth, who is now in heaven, is just as approachable and compassionate as when He was on earth (Hebrews 4:14-16). He understands our struggles and temptations even better than we do, because He never gave in. What brings Christ joy? When we go to the Great Physician, Jesus, for healing.
