Uplift Pine River Kids2020-01-11T01:02:20-05:00

UPlift logoUplift Pine River Area Kids was created to help children living in rural poverty and who are food deprived. Uplift provides a bag of food to help supplement weekend meals and snacks.

Out of a K-12 school population of 1,037 students, 44-47% live in poverty.  563 students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at school and many more could qualify. Uplift provides each participant a bag of simple-to-prepare, nonperishable food for weekend meals (when the students are not in school receiving supplemental meals).

In the 2017-2018 school year nearly 5,000 bags of food (about 15,000 pounds worth) were sent home to Pine River Area students.  Around 135-145 kids were helped each week!

Gideons2020-01-11T09:40:49-05:00

The Gideons distribute Bibles and New Testaments around the world!

Having God’s Word can and does lead people to faith in Christ, and those new Christians then grow by studying their Scriptures and even use them to share their faith with others.

For this reason, we focus on distributing complete Bibles, New Testaments, or portions thereof. These copies of God’s Word are printed in more than 90 languages and are either given directly to certain individuals or placed in selected public locations where large numbers of people, who may be searching for answers, will have the ability to encounter the Word of God.

Win men and women, boys and girls for Jesus by distributing Bibles. Last year over 8 million copies of God’s Word  were placed around the world in 200 countries and 99 languages. In a 6 year period, each Bible has the potential of reaching 2,300 readers.

How you can serve: You can partner with Gideons by giving a gift to them and by distributing Bibles around the world.

Angel Tree2020-01-04T14:11:23-05:00

Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program is a nationwide effort that specifically reaches out to hundreds of thousands of innocent children who carry the heavy burden of their parents’ incarceration throughout the year. At Christmastime, Angel Tree introduces prisoners and their children to Jesus and brings healing and restoration to families destroyed by crime.
Through the delivery of a Christmas gift and the Gospel given on behalf of the incarcerated parent, Angel Tree boys and girls are presented with Christ’s free gift of salvation, feel loved and remembered by their parent, and experience the simple joys of the Christmas season. Angel Tree also provides ministry to the children through its summer camping program and promotes family reconciliation through discipleship and mentoring.

ATO Fraternity

Dear Covenant Presbyterian Church,

Your continued generosity, kindness and welcoming attitude is much appreciated by the brothers of ATO. We sincerely thank you for all you’ve done for us. Allowing us to stay two nights was a life-saver. Our event would not be possible without you and we greatly appreciate your hospitality. Thank you, best of luck! We wouldn’t have made it to $240,000 raised over 7 years without you.

Regards, ATO

Love INC2020-01-04T14:10:01-05:00

Love In the Name of Christ (LOVE INC) is a strategy to help Christian churches help their neighbors in need.
It is a network of churches that links church ministries and volunteers to people in need. It is a cooperative effort between churches and community agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged.
It is a vehicle that helps churches, collectively and individually, fulfill their Biblical mandate to reach out to the needy.

Love INC uses a clearinghouse model which is the foundation of Love INC.
It receives requests for help, screens the requests of extent of need and legitimacy and refers the requests to a local church ministry, church volunteer, or community agency. Love INC follows up to ensure the need was met and to offer spiritual support.

If you need assistance, call 231-779-1888.

Covenant Kids Congo2019-12-29T00:22:18-05:00
Covenant Kids Congo

Since 2012, the Evangelical Covenant Church and World Vision have partnered to help and support children in the poorest and neediest country in the world, Congo.  Congo, in Central Africa, was ranked 187 (the lowest) out of 187 countries on the United Nations’ Index of Human Development.  In a country of over 64 million, 3 out of 4 people have no access to clean water.  Congo rates in the bottom 8 countries for acute malnutrition.  82,000 children under the age of 5 die every year due to malaria.  And yet, there is hope.  An unprecedented partnership was formed to meet this unprecedented need.  The Covenant has been involved in remote areas of the Congo since 1937.  This ministry has grown to more than 1,600 churches, 5 hospitals, 90 medical clinics, a school system that serves 60,000 students and micro-enterprise projects.  World Vision has been in other areas of the Congo for 40 years.  They have 60 years of experience of building sustainable long-term solutions for children.  Together they are bringing hope to children in Congo.  When children are sponsored, you not only make a difference for one child you help long-term development for the entire community.  Through this model, every child supported benefits 8-10 children!

Samaritan’s Purse2019-12-29T00:20:21-05:00

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As our teams work in crisis areas of the world, people often ask, “Why did you come?” The answer is always the same: “We have come to help you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our ministry is all about Jesus—first, last, and always. As the Apostle Paul said, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5, NIV).

Operation Christmas Child – The shoebox ministry (under Samaritan’s Purse) provides a gift filled shoebox to children thought the world.

How can you help? Shop and plan throughout the year to fill one or more shoeboxes. Shoeboxes are collected in November each year.
