December 31, 2017 “Creating The Future”

Every choice in life – every thought, word, and action – brings a return of circumstances with it. The choices you make today affect your future. Good things result from the good we store up and treasure in our life, Matthew 12:35. What you are storing up and treasuring right now will be your future . . . unless you change.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 12:33-37

Sermon Length – 22:49

December 24, 2017 “God With Open Arms” Candlelight Service 8pm

What do animals teach us at Christmas? Jesus was born among stable animals, with a feeding trough for a crib, as a purposeful example of humility, (Philippians 2:5-8). Even though Jesus is God, and worthy of our highest esteem and worship, He modeled lowliness for us. May we be humble and lowly in our own esteem, and very high in our esteem, worship, awe and reverence of Christ Jesus.

Scripture Reading: Luke 2:1-20

Sermon Length – 50:06

December 24, 2017 “God Provides What We Need”

People often say God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, but, that’s not true. We often are faced with challenges too big for us, to remind us to depend on God. Mary and Joseph had to depend upon God for the impossible, (Luke 1:37). We’re more dependent on God that we might realize, (Acts 17:25). To keep us dependent and trusting, God provides for us one day at a time. This is hard to do because it requires us to let go of our need to control, our limited understanding, and our minimal strength. God want us to let go not just a little, but completely. Let go.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 1:18-25

Sermon Length – 24:17

December 17, 2017 “God Loves The Outsider”

God loves the outsider. Matthew records the first worshipers of Jesus being Magi from the East, perhaps Babylon. Matthew concludes his book with the challenge to make disciples of all nations, all ethnicities, (Matthew 28:19).

The Magi teach us about worship. Worship is giving Christ honor and dignity. worship is expressed with exceeding great joy. And, gifts given, in worship, intensify and express our love.

May the church love and welcome all to worship Christ.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:1-12

Sermon Length – 25:40

December 10, 2017 “God Brings Peace”

This Christmas season I don’t want us to think “Here we go again”, rather think, ”I could see it coming. I knew that would happen because you can count on God.” You can count on God having a plan for our world and for you. You can count on God bringing peace. He brings peace different from the world that focuses chiefly on an absence of conflict. Christ brings peace with God, overall well-being, peace of mind, peace that transcends understanding, and the hope of an end to all conflict. You can count on that!

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 9:6-7

Sermon Length – 26:49

December 3, 2017 “God Has A Plan”

God is dependable, you can count on Him! You can count on God having a plan for this world and a plan for your life. His plans include stars and constellations, prophesies, and visits from angels. His plan involves adopting people into His family (Ephesians 1:3-5), plans that don’t want to leave anyone out    (2 Peter 3:9). He has plans for your life that take into account the sin, evil and hatred of others (Genesis 50:19-20). Trust God. Trust God for His good and gracious plans!

Scripture Reading:Luke 1:5-17
