In Moses’ parting speech to the Israelites he told them to choose to love God with their mind, personality, desires, and their whole being. Choose to love God who Moses describes as great, a rock, perfect, just, faithful, unable to do wrong, right, our father, our creator, our shield and guard, caring, a jealous protector, angered by sin, and one of a kind.
Just as Moses was concerned for the spiritual life of the Israelites, may we be concerned for others who don’t follow Christ. Nonbelievers are prisoners of war, the enemy’s captives.
